PADI Open Water Course

This is your starting point and the first step in becoming a certified diver.

You’ll begin with online learning, followed by pool training, and then your ocean dives.

Every part of the process is paced around your comfort level, and we only move forward when you feel confident and ready. This certification is internationally recognized and lasts a lifetime.

This course includes everything required to earn your PADI Open Water Diver certification:

— eLearning Course: Complete the academic portion online at your own pace

— Pool Training: At your home pool or my private pool

— Open Water Dives: A day trip to Catalina Island to complete three ocean dives at Casino Point Dive Park, plus one local shore dive on a separate day. The training location for your final shore dive is chosen based on ocean/weather conditions and your skill level.

— Ferry Tickets: Round-trip tickets on the Catalina Express (option to stay on the island to complete all dives on the island over two consecutive days is available for an additional cost)

— Equipment Rentals: All scuba gear (regulator, BCD, wetsuit, hood, boots, gloves, tank, weights, mask, snorkel, fins)

— Certification: PADI Open Water Diver eCard upon completion of the course

PADI Open Water Referral

Complete your online learning and pool training here in Los Angeles, then complete your ocean dives on vacation with any PADI center or instructor to earn your Open Water certification. This alternative route allows you to eliminate study and pool time from your vacation while maximizing dive time in the ocean. This course is great for those who already have a trip scheduled or plan to only be tropical water divers.

This course includes the eLearning and pool training only. The open water dives are completed and paid for separately with the dive center where you complete your certification.

This course includes:

‍ ‍— PADI Referral Paperwork: Take your referral paperwork to any PADI dive center in the world to complete your four open water dives. I’ll help you find a trusted dive center at your destination and coordinate with them so your certification process is seamless.

PADI Advanced Open Water Course

Take your skills deeper and expand your diving experience with the PADI Advanced Open Water certification. It allows you to dive deeper and try specialized types of diving like deep dives, search and recovery, navigation, peak performance buoyancy, and night dives. This certification helps build confidence, improves your abilities, and gives you more freedom to explore unique and more challenging dive sites around the world. Many dive sites and liveaboards require divers to have an Advanced Open Water Certification.

To be an advanced diver, it’s recommended that you have your own mask, fins, flashlight, slate, surface marker buoy, and cutting tool. If you don’t have them yet, gear is available to use as needed.

PADI Refresher

Your PADI Open Water certification never expires, but skills can get a little rusty if you haven’t been diving in a while. This is for certified divers who want to refresh their skills and feel fully prepared for their next underwater adventure.

We’ll review essential safety procedures, get reacquainted with your dive gear, and spend time in the water with an instructor guiding you every step of the way.

This course is designed to help certified divers refresh their scuba knowledge, rebuild confidence, and practice essential skills with an instructor.

As diving equipment and techniques continue to evolve, the refresher course helps bring you up to date on current safety practices and diving techniques.

The Refresher includes:

— 90 minutes at your home pool or my private pool

— Skills review and in water practice

— Equipment familiarization and buoyancy check

Private Instruction: $150

Each Additional Diver: $120

The PADI ReActivate eLearning course is available as an optional add on for $75.
